fingers, palms, elbows and arms

This is an easy project to execute all you need is A2 paper (try diff types), container of water and a box of watercolour cake.

the focus of this project was to for students to discover the number of ways they can use their hands or arms to create marks or prints. i think most of them had fun, even though at the start some found it strange when i said "no brushes today". it was a slow build up, first from the usual handprints, fingers tapping to side chops. each time someone did something new, the rest tried a bit. one student went as far as using his elbows and later arm.

and along the way, what happens when too much or too little water is applied.

Home-based: Watercolour and Ink on Rice Paper - Pandas

students have gotten quite use to the texture and translucency of acrylic paint.

for this project, they practice being gentle and light with the paintbrush to avoid tearing the paper.

a simple exercise of stacking circles, filling some circles followed by adding colours to the background.

Liquid Acrylic on Ricepaper

This was such fun
and most importantly, students loved it.

today, we tested a colour: red diluted with water.
group 1 wanted to create a cny inspired piece with fishes. while group 2 wanted specks of flowers.
